Fitness classes offered at Aquacare Physical Therapy

Aquacare Physical Therapy, with locations in Millville, Millsboro, and Lewes, is offering specialty aquatic fitness programs in its warm water therapy pool. Aquacare Physical Therapy locations house large therapy pools that are kept at a comfortable, therapeutic 91 degrees.

The Millsboro location also offers classes. Water Aerobics, a low-impact class, is appropriate for all fitness levels and perfect for those with arthritis. Aquatic Zumba, known as the Zumba pool party, gives an invigorating workout with lots of splashing, stretching and twisting. Classes run during morning hours Monday through Friday.

Instructor Marcie Gordon is CPR certified, AED certified, and Red Cross Lifeguard certified. She has 15 years' experience as a water instructor; she is involved in water aerobics, swimming, swim team, and lifeguarding, and is a triathlon director and canoe instructor.

“In the aquatic environment, people can move in a noncompressive environment with less pain and pressure on arthritic and painful joints," says Erich Traum, DPT, clinical director of the Millsboro Aquacare Physical Therapy location.

Aquacare Physical Therapy is a full-service physical therapy practice specializing in aquatic rehabilitation and community aquatic programs. Services offered include manual therapy, injured workers rehab, orthopedic and sports medicine, chronic pain management and post-surgery rehabilitation.

Monthly pool memberships are also available for those who want to exercise independently.
