Float therapy studio opens with new, local owner May 5

May 1, 2026

Drift Float Rehoboth, a float therapy studio formerly known as Urban Float Rehoboth, will celebrate its grand opening under new ownership with a ribbon cutting at 4:30 p.m., Tuesday, May 5, at 18979 Coastal Highway, Unit 101, Rehoboth Beach. Members of the Rehoboth Beach-Dewey Beach Chamber of Commerce will be on hand, and attendees will have opportunities to tour the space, meet the team, and learn about the studio’s services and community initiatives.

Rehoboth Beach native Heather Rowe, the new proprietor, said Drift Float Rehoboth reflects a deeply personal vision shaped by both professional experience and a lifelong connection to the area. After managing the studio for six months, Rowe saw an opportunity to create an inviting, approachable space where locals and visitors alike can step away from the noise and reconnect with a sense of calm.

“As someone who grew up here, it means a lot to be able to offer something that truly supports the well-being of this community,” Rowe said. “I’ve seen firsthand how powerful it can be when people give themselves the time to rest. My goal is to make that experience more accessible and to create opportunities through outreach, events and education.”

Drift Float Rehoboth offers float therapy, cocoon sessions, and BEMER therapy, which uses low-level electromagnetic pulses to support circulation and recovery. Float therapy allows guests to relax in a private pod filled with 200 gallons of body-temperature water and 1,200 pounds of Epsom salt, creating a weightless, near-silent environment.

Drift Float Rehoboth is designed to feel welcoming from the start, with guided introductions that help guests feel comfortable and supported. With a focus on thoughtful growth and local connection, Drift Float Rehoboth aims to become a space for restoration, education and community-centered care.
