Floral Inspirations to hand out flowers in Lewes Oct. 23
As part of the Society of American Florists’ Petal It Forward program, Floral Inspirations will hit the streets of Lewes at 11 a.m., Wednesday Oct. 23, to hand out flowers to Lewes residents to help brighten their week.
Floral Inspirations owner Ken Norman will join dozens of florists across the country in Petal It Forward. The random acts of kindness are set to start in front of the Lewes post office in an effort to share the positive emotional benefits of flowers.
Research reveals that flowers have an immediate impact on happiness and a long-term positive effect on moods. Floral Inspirations and the Petal It Forward team are not only spreading happiness to others, but also handing out an extra flower to be shared with a loved one, co-worker or even a stranger.
“We see the positive impact day in and day out when we make our flower deliveries,” said Norman. “People love to get flowers just because, so we wanted to create random smiles today and give people a chance to do the same for someone else.”
After receiving their flowers, recipients are asked to spread the happiness by gifting their extra flower and sharing their happiness on social media using #petalitforward.
Floral Inspirations is a full service floral design studio in Lewes at 524 East Savannah Road next to the Beacon Hotel lobby. Owner/operator Ken Norman, AIFD, PFCI, is a third-generation floral designer. He was recognized and inducted into the American Institute of Floral Designers in 2002. In 2012, Norman achieved membership with Professional Floral Communicator International. He is a respected instructor at the prestigious New York Botanical Garden. He has participated in the renowned Philadelphia Flower Show and as an exhibit chairman for AIFD.
For the past several years, Norman has been a winning contestant and demonstrator at the flower show’s Designer’s Studio. His work has been published in several bridal magazines and the blog Style Me Pretty. Norman has won best ceremony and best reception categories in Florists’ Review Picture Perfect Wedding contest.
