Florence V. Rutkowski, active in church

Florence V. Rutkowski, 80, died Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2011, at her home in Wilmington.

Florence was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Hedwig's Catholic Church and the Holy Rosary Sodality. She was active in Hedwig's Mother's Guild, St. Hedwig's Choir, St. Hedwig Polish Festival, and the Pulaski Day Parade. She was a past member of St. Hedwig Alley Cats and CYO.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Rutkowski Sr.; and her brother, Bayard Santa Barbara. She is survived by her son, Edward Rutkowski Jr. of Wilmington; her son, Stephen Rutkowski and his wife Diana of Wilmington; her daughter, Marianne D'Alessio and her husband Franco of Wilmington; her son, Paul Rutkowski of Wilmington; her daughter, Jeanne DiAmico and her husband Lou of Lewes; 15 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Hedwig R.C. Church, 408 S. Harrison St., Wilmington at 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 13. Friends may call at the church from 9:30 to 11:30 am. Interment is private.
