Focus Multisports donates $30,000 for Delaware seashore preservation
Ernie Felici and Rick Hundley of Focus Multisports presented a donation of $30,000 to the Delaware Seashore Preservation Foundation July 15. The funds were proceeds from the 2017 Coastal Delaware Running Festival.
"We would like to thank Ernie and Rick of Focus Multisports, their corporate sponsors, especially Harvey Hanna Associates and the Dewey Beach Hyatt Place, Peninsula Oil, Giant Foods, NKS Distributors, the many participants, the incredible volunteers and our fantastic towns, Delaware State Parks, DelDOT, Sussex EMS, Rehoboth Beach Volunteer Fire Co., for this very generous gift. Gifts such as this go a long way in helping us to preserve and enhance the Delaware Seashore State Parks experience in addition to our restoration efforts of World War II Fire Control Tower #3 located just south of Dewey Beach on Route 1." said Larry Brown of the DSPF.
The Delaware Seashore Preservation Foundation is a nonprofit organization created to preserve, protect and enhance the Indian River Life Saving Station and the parks in the Delaware Seashore State Park region including Indian River Marina and Delaware Seashore, Fenwick Island and Holts Landing state parks.
"At Focus Multisports, we believe in the power of philanthropy. We believe in the partnership between for-profit businesses and the nonprofit sector. Our alliances strengthen local organizations and provide businesses with a platform to give back. I would say such collaborations are win/win," said race co-director Ernie Felici.
