Former DC Councilperson Carol Schwartz in Rehoboth Dec. 7

December 6, 2019

Former District of Columbia Council member and mayoral candidate Carol Schwartz will be at Browseabout Books in Rehoboth Beach from 9 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Dec. 7.

Schwartz will be promoting “Quite a Life! From Defeat to Defeat...and Back,” her self-published autobiography, discounted 25 percent for a price of $21.

Schwartz’s story is that of a Republican, now a six-year Independent, from Texas who tried hard to become Democratic D.C.’s mayor. She nearly did, in spite of the 11 to 1 political odds against her.

Always a straight-shooter, Schwartz talks about her life with candor and humor. She gives her opinions with unbridled honesty. From her difficult childhood to her unexpected political victories, to her losses both in public and private life, Schwartz tells it like it was, warts and all.

Schwartz and her family have vacationed in Rehoboth Beach since 1976. In 1990, Schwartz, then a widow of several years, bought a house in downtown Rehoboth Beach. She calls it “Carol’s Choice” and said she loves it as well as the whole area.
