Rob Smith, former World Cup player and 1996 U.S. Summer Olympics soccer team member, will speak at 6 p.m., Monday, June 18, about his personal journey, "My Story with God: How I began my relationship with Jesus, how he has changed me and how I discovered real purpose in my life through my relationship with him."
His career began at the University of South Carolina and continued with the USISL teams Delaware Wizards, Columbus Crew and Indiana Blast. He played in the 1993 World Cup and the 1995 Pan Am Games and began a coaching career after his professional retirement.
This event is sponsored by Epworth Peace In the Community, which is Epworth's youth and young adult groups made up of caring individuals from grades six and up who want to make a difference in the church and in the community. The public is invited to attend.
