Free introductory meditation session set May 21

May 17, 2022

A free introduction to meditation will be held from 9:30 to 11 a.m., Saturday, May 21, at Rehoboth Beach Yoga, 20245 Bay Vista Road, Unit 101, Rehoboth Beach.

Participants will discover an easy pathway to deep meditation in just one hour. Instead of watching their mind, each individual will dive deeper inward, exploring their innermost essence by using the shortcuts yogis specialize in. Named Svaroopa Vidya, this meditation methodology is based in yoga’s ancient teachings from the Himalayan sages. Participants will learn about the goal and purpose of meditation as well as the how-to basics, get their questions answered and go home ready to add meditation to their lifestyle. To register, go to rehobothbeachyoga.com, go to the schedule page, scroll down and click on the class.

Also May 21, a half-day program from 1:30 to 5:30 p.m. will offer three hours of yoga poses plus an hour of chanting and meditation to include body, mind, heart and deeper. Anyone can attend; it’s all user-friendly while being deeply effective and profoundly nourishing. Meditation instruction is included, along with personal attention in each individual’s poses for maximum benefits. Cost is $101. To register go to, svaroopa.org/hdp-rehobothbeach.

Both programs are taught by Swami Satrupananda Saraswati, who began practicing yoga and meditation in Calgary, Alberta, Canada in the 1990s. As an undergraduate student, she spent some time in China and southeast Asia where she deepened her interest in Eastern spirituality. This pursuit led Satrupananda to Svaroopa yoga and to her Sadguru: Gurudevi Nirmalananda, ultimately to becoming a swami, a yoga monk.
