Fresh Market set to open in Rehoboth
The Fresh Market will open its first store in Delaware this summer in the new Rehoboth Beach Gateway shopping center off Route 1.
The company said the new store will hire about 90 people to work at the store.
Public affairs manager Drewry Sackett said, “We are always on the lookout for markets where shoppers have a passion for great food like we do, and Rehoboth Beach is just such a place. We look forward to serving this community and providing residents here with The Fresh Market’s unique shopping experience.”
Ray and Beverly Berry of Greensboro, N.C., founded the Fresh Market in 1982 to provide high-quality perishable products in a warm, friendly atmosphere with a high level of customer service, Sackett said. The company has since expanded to 27 states, many of them in Florida and North Carolina.
“The Fresh Market provides a unique grocery shopping experience, featuring high-quality perishables, distinctive foods and superior customer service. Our stores, products and employees inspire people to make everyday eating extraordinary,” Sackett said.
In anticipation of its opening, The Fresh Market will host a career open house from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., Tuesday, April 26, at the Atlantic Sands Hotel. Prior to attending, job hopefuls must apply at careers.thefreshmarket.com, click career search and search jobs using keyword 229. Interested candidates will have a chance to speak directly with the selection team and current employees.
Positions available include assistant deli managers, meat cutters, grocery specialists and assistant produce managers.
