Funds for Friends fundraiser Oct. 14 will benefit Chelsea Sherwood

Chelsea Sherwood was diagnosed with a brain and spine malformation called chiari at a young age. Now as a young adult, she has to have brain surgery at Johns Hopkins in October to correct issues that have become worse over the years.

A Funds for Friends fundraiser will take place from 11 a.m. to closing, Tuesday, Oct. 14, at the Greene Turtle in Lewes, to help cover outstanding expenses that will arise from this surgery. Twenty percent of the day’s total sales will go toward the cost of the operation. Customers should let the server know they are there to support Chelsea.

The day will include a corn hole tournament and a karaoke contest. To participate in these games, organizers are asking for donations to help support the cause.
