Gabrielle ‘Gabby’ Nysha Mills, leader among friends

Gabrielle “Gabby” Nysha Mills, 15, of Selbyville gained her heavenly wings Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2020. 

She was born in Salisbury, Md., April 8, 2004, daughter of Gabriel A. Mills and Jamie L. (Morsell) Mills.  Gabby attended Phillip C. Showell Elementary School and Selbyville Middle School, and was currently a 10th grader at Sussex Tech.  

Gabby was an intelligent, wise, mature young lady who was a leader among her friends and loved spending time with her family.  She was very independent, and had a very strong work ethic.  Gabby would work hard for anything that she wanted and would never ask for any help.  She also had a very caring and loving personality, and enjoyed mentoring younger children.  Gabby also loved animals and had such a memorable time with her girlfriend Selex at the Delaware State Fair this summer feeding the giraffes.  

She is survived by her mother, Jamie Mills of Selbyville; her father, Gabriel A. Mills of Salisbury; eight siblings, Ivy Mills, Adian Mills, Debbie Smith, Alianna Mills, Theresa Mills, Gabriel Mills, Lilian Drummond and Jeffrey Freeman; her girlfriend, Selex Horsey; and a host of extended family members and friends.

A celebration of her life will be held at 6 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 23, at Mariner’s Bethel United Methodist Church, 81 Central Ave., Ocean View.
