Gallery One welcomes fiber artist Nancy Ponton

The work of local fiber artist Nancy Ponton will now be available in the artisan room at Gallery One in Ocean View, where Ponton’s one-of-a-kind, individualized purses are now on display.

After a career in the federal government, Ponton shifted her creative energy into fabric crafting. During her extensive travel, Ponton collected interesting fabrics and learned new techniques and textures to incorporate into her distinctive, highly functional artwork. Ponton personally designs and sews each piece. 

Gallery One visitors may see Ponton’s work as well as the work of other artisans in glass jewelry, blown glass, pottery wood pieces, mosaics and weavings.

The main gallery features 14 local artists. Gallery One is located at 32 Atlantic Ave., Route 26, Ocean View, and it is always staffed by one of its artists.
