As part of its continual effort to make a difference in the world, Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Gallo Realty’s Gallo Gives Foundation awarded its 2022 first-quarter donations of $7,500 to help Ukrainian relief efforts. The donations will go to the Rotary Club of Warszawa Fryderyk Chopin and the Rotary Club of Warszawa Konstancin in Poland.
These two Rotary clubs, along with other partners including the local clubs in Lewes, Rehoboth and Long Neck, are setting up a refugee support and education center in Konstancin, Poland. The purpose of the center will be to provide educational, cultural and therapeutic support to the displaced children and their mothers coming into the country from Ukraine.
“Our company has been looking for a way to provide support to the people of Ukraine, and this opportunity seemed to be the perfect venue for that support,” said Andrew Ratner, Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Gallo Realty vice president. “From the material we have been provided, an estimated 2 million single mothers with children and orphans have been displaced from their homes in Ukraine and are now living in Poland. This center will give single mothers a safe haven for their children so they can work and will provide the children with much-needed services such as education and emotional support. We are so thankful that these Rotary clubs have established this project to help these people.”
The Gallo Gives Foundation is the charitable arm of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Gallo Realty and is managed by the Greater Lewes Foundation. Most of the funds are contributed by the agents and staff of Gallo Realty, and the company matches all contributions 100%. Established in 2016, the Gallo Gives Foundation has donated more than $230,000 to local and worldwide charitable organizations.
