The Gazette wanders through stunning desert trails

In February 2025, Karen Burnham and her husband, Mike, explored the stunning desert landscapes of Palm Springs, Calif. Highlights included hiking through the iconic Joshua Tree National Park and biking into the dramatic San Andreas Fault, where the Pacific and North American tectonic plates meet. The couple, who enjoy exploring the outdoors, brought along a favorite piece of home—the Cape Gazette. “We enjoy it every week,” Karen shared. “It’s our favorite paper and such a hometown treat to take on the go.
