GFWC Delaware honored with Senate Resolution
The General Federation of Women’s Clubs Delaware was honored June 20 by Senate Concurrent Resolution No. 84, declaring Saturday, Sept. 30, 2023, as GFWC Delaware Step Up to End Hunger Day of Service.
Both General Assembly chambers unanimously approved the resolution, sponsored by Sen. David Lawson, R-Marydel, in the Senate and Rep. Ruth Briggs King, R- Georgetown, in the House.
GFWC Delaware is partnering with the Food Bank of Delaware, the Salvation Army, veterans organizations, Code Purple, churches, food pantries and shelters in Delaware, and other organizations working against food insecurity are invited to join GFWC Delaware in networking.
GFWC Delaware President Trish Rodriguez spoke on the floor of the Senate with details of the GFWC Day of Service.
