Gilligan’s closes Milton location

June 4, 2020

More than a year after it opened, Gilligan’s Bar and Grill has announced that it will not reopen its Milton location.

The permanent closure of the Route 16 restaurant was announced on Gilligan’s Facebook page.

“The pandemic has caused further financial hardship, and it is with much sadness that we are announcing our inability to reopen. Thank you for all the support you have given us the past year in Milton and the last 18 in Lewes,” the post said.

Gilligan’s closed its popular Lewes restaurant in January, with co-owner Cheryl Tilton citing health and family obligations, after nearly 20 years in business. The Milton location was opened in March 2019. The Milton restaurant was shut down in response to the COVID-19 outbreak on March 13.
