Gillis Gilkerson completes healthcare destination in Milford

July 12, 2021

Gillis Gilkerson President Dwight Miller is pleased to announce the firm’s completion of 10th Street Centre, a first-class medical office building located along Route 1 in Milford.

The 28,000-square-foot facility is situated less than four miles from Bayhealth Hospital’s new Sussex County campus.

“We’ve completed quite a few projects with the Silicato Development team,” said Miller. “We commend them on venturing into medical development with a project that brings so much value to its community. The 10th Street Centre is a true one-stop destination for healthcare services, and we’re proud to have been a part of its creation.”

The eye-catching, three-story building, designed by Davis, Bowen & Friedel Inc., features a modern façade with glass accents and stonework detailing. Upon final delivery of the building itself, Gillis Gilkerson initiated tenant buildout and suite customization for Bayada Home Healthcare, Southern Delaware Medical Group, and Dolce Café and Coffee Shop. Approximately 5,000 square feet of shell space remains available for lease.

“We recognized a need for independent medical office space in the Milford community,” said Leanne Silicato of Silicato Development. “It’s a desirable place to live with a vastly growing population and is conveniently located within close proximity of the Delaware beaches. We are thrilled to partner with Gillis Gilkerson on another project – they build it right the first time, and we always like to partner with the best in the business. GGI’s experience in medical construction paired with our experience as developers resulted in the perfect team for this project.”

Project Manager Mike Truitt led Gillis Gilkerson’s construction team with onsite management provided by Superintendent Darryl Mitchell.
