Glade Children’s Food Drive a success

The Glade Children’s Food Drive had another successful effort, collecting 1,790 lbs of nonperishable food for the Food Bank of Delaware Dec. 2 in The Glade community of Rehoboth Beach and parts of downtown Lewes. Cash donations of $1,524 were also collected.
In its ninth year, this group has collected a total of 18,348 lbs. of food and $13,000 for the food bank. As members have gone on to college, new members have been trained to keep the tradition alive. Their commitment to supporting the Food Bank of Delaware has never wavered.
Generous support has been provided each year by the Rehoboth Beach Giant Food Store with its donation of grocery bags and Grotto Pizza Inc. with its donation of copy services and transportation.
