Story Location:
The Circle
Georgetown, DE 19947
United States

The Good Ole Boy Foundation will stage a living nativity on The Circle in downtown Georgetown from 6:30 to 8 p.m., Friday, Dec. 16, and Saturday, Dec. 17, with a candlelight service Friday, Dec. 23.

New toys will be collected for the Sussex County Foster Parent Association, and diapers and wipes will be collected for the Sussex Pregnancy Center. Free hot chocolate and cookies will be available each night.

The foundation helps coordinate resources to aid families in their time of need. The nonprofit group is also in the process of awarding Christmas grants to area youth organizations.

After a traditional static nativity display sponsored by Georgetown Wesleyan Church was forced to be removed from The Circle in 2019, the foundation, with the help of 11 area churches, staged its first living nativity.

Town of Georgetown officials changed a policy prohibiting unattended private displays on The Circle. The nativity display found a new home at Shepherd’s Office on South Bedford Street in Georgetown.
