The Good Ole Boys Foundation will have its Living Nativity on The Circle again this Christmas season. The live event will take place from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 17, Saturday, Dec. 18, and Sunday, Dec. 19. A special candlelight service will take place at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 23. Free hot chocolate and cookies will be available. Local churches provide volunteers for the event.

Collections will be accepted for the Pregnancy Care Center and the Sussex Foster Parent Association. Go to nativityonthecircle.com for needed items and more information on the event.

The living nativity first appeared on The Circle in 2019 after the traditional nativity scene placed on The Circle by Georgetown Wesleyan Church was prohibited following a change in the Town of Georgetown's policies for displays on The Circle. Unattended private displays are no longer permitted.

The 10-piece nativity scene is now on display at Shepherd's Office, 408 N. Bedford St., Georgetown. The Shepherd's Office provides services to those in need, including the local homeless.

The Good Ole Boy Foundation was founded to mobilize the community in an effort to unite resources and assist families in their time of unforeseen difficulties. Each year, the organization awards Christmas grants for youth organizations.
