Goode is only worthy candidate in Rehoboth

July 30, 2024

To be blunt, something is rotten in Rehoboth, and fortunately most people are starting to smell the problem. The solution is voting for Suzanne Goode, and thankfully, more and more of us know it. She the only candidate standing up for us.

There are too many corrupt things that need to stop: from the illegal meetings the attorney general of Delaware is investigating, to the illegal conduct and violations of the city charter undertaken with arrogance and dismissal of basic rules of governance that protect us from bad legislating, to the sudden $2.7 million surplus found right after a massive tax increase and massive business license and fee increases, after they voted for massive parking increases, after the million-dollar giveaway to the city manager who’s not qualified under the charter, to the announced cost overruns on the ridiculously expensive lifeguard station, to the likely hidden cost overruns that the mayor seems to be hiding prior to the election, to the general approach to governing from the hip with no data, no plan and no cares for the peoples’ money. This is disgusting performance of a governing body. It seems equal parts incompetence and negligence.

Suzanne is the antidote for all of the above, and she is the only single candidate for whom I will vote. She is the only candidate of the four who has been on the front lines to protect people’s money already, to hold the current klown krew accountable, and to actually study and be conversant in the issues that matter to Rehoboth’s future. After watching the candidates’ forum, Suzanne stands out as the only one who can be relied upon to be a true voice for the people. One other candidate is a part-time resident from Florida, and the two guys between them don’t seem to have the ability to accurately diagnose the problems in city hall caused by the krew also propping up their own campaigns so they can join the ranks of the problem makers, as neither so far has demonstrated any action in the last two years when they could have already had an impact. We don’t need two more pocket votes for the mayor and the old guard that is driving prerogatives for the few, with the money of the many, to the detriment of all.

Suzanne is running an exceptional door-to-door campaign, listening to and learning from the people that matter, the actual voters and the business folks who make Rehoboth a charming place. She has put her talents to use for us already as a citizen; imagine the progress and accountability we’ll experience from her as a commissioner. It’s time to wake up and do what’s right for our town, and it’s time to vote for a woman of the highest intellect and demonstrated investment in us, the people, so we may have the voice we deserve to better guide the town we love, and to put an end to the corrupt insider games carried on at our expense.
