Gooey Donuts in Milton closes
Gooey Donuts in Milton closed its doors, alerting would-be customers with a sign thanking them for their business over the years.
Opening in 2015, Gooey Donuts was once named by Food Network as the best donut shop in Delaware. But in August, the state Division of Public Health briefly shut the restaurant down after finding health violations.
According to a post on Gooey Donuts’ Facebook page by owner Doug Ingram, the problem was related to an infestation of grasshoppers in the storage area. Gooey Donuts reopened in early September before closing for good. An attempt to contact Ingram was unsuccessful. RYAN MAVITY PHOTOS
