Grace of God used its monthly mobile food pantry to distribute Christmas presents and Christmas stockings to 53 families from the Long Neck community. Every child got wrapped presents to open on Christmas morning, and each member of the families received stockings full of food and gifts to keep them warm in the coming cold months.
Grace of God holds a monthly mobile food pantry where a mobile grocery is set up for families to shop for food. Fresh produce, bread, chicken and pantry items are distributed to the community. During December, each family receives a few gifts for each child and senior and every person receives a stocking.
“We help people all year, but Christmas is our time to really give to our families. The smiles and tears we see give me goosebumps,” said Pat Barnes, coordinator of the Grocery Club.
Grace of God is a new Evangelical Lutheran Church in America congregation worshiping inside the Long Neck CHEER center on Long Neck road. The congregation worships at 10 a.m. each Sunday. For more information, go to goglc.org.
