I have been pleasantly surprised how close this year’s World Series has been so far. I’m actually going to change my prediction about who is going to win. I now think the Blue Jays will win in seven games on Saturday. The Blue Jays have not been afraid of the Dodgers’ starting rotation. They have hit some home runs, but also have played successful small ball. They have also played some very good defense as well.
The Dodgers have not been able to sustain any consistent offense throughout the games. If the Blue Jays win the series, I still think it will be a significant upset, but not one of the biggest ones ever. I believe that the Dodgers will win Game 6 because their starting pitcher, Yamamoto, has been almost perfect in his last two playoff starts, both complete-game wins.
Fun to follow regardless of who you want to take the title. It's been some really great baseball!
The 76ers have gotten off to a great start. They are undefeated at 4-0. They are collectively scoring tons of points. They have scored over 115 points in every game so far, and Tyrese Maxey is leading the entire NBA in scoring. He’s averaging almost 38 points per game. Joel Embid also seems to be getting better with each game.
I hope the team continues to win with some bigger margins so the key starters won't have to play as many minutes. Three or four of them are playing over 40 minutes a game so far. Paul George and Jared McCain are also both close to coming back from injuries. If the team can stay healthy, it should be a fun year, especially bouncing back from last year’s injury-ridden disappointing results.
The 6-2 Eagles have a bye week this week before their next two difficult games. First, Monday Night Football against the Packers in Green Bay and the following week the Detroit Lions at home. Unless the Eagles have a major collapse for the rest of the season, they will win the NFC East division in back-to-back years. That will be pretty incredible and will be the first time any team has won the division twice in a row in 20 years. The Eagles did it last in 2004 and 2005. Since the Dallas Cowboys and Washington Commanders only have three wins each and the New York Giants only have two, they all have an uphill climb to get back in the division race.
I hope everyone enjoys the last two games of the World Series and that you all have a safe Halloween holiday.
