Gumbo Crawl participants search for the best in town

Guests enjoy the beautiful weather on the Purple Parrot patio.More than 1,000 people and two dozen restaurants participated April 11 in the 2026 Rehoboth Beach Gumbo Crawl.
After all the samples of the hearty Louisiana-style stew were tasted and ballots were counted, Mariachi Restaurant was named as having the best gumbo. The second-place finisher was Zogg’s Raw Bar & Grill. The third-place finisher was the Purple Parrot Grill. For the second year in a row, Victoria’s Restaurant won the best specialty drink competition.
The annual event is co-hosted by Rehoboth Beach Main Street and the Purple Parrot.
