As the CEO of Sussex County Habitat for Humanity, I am acutely aware of the pressing need for more attainable housing options near the eastern coast of Sussex County. As such, I am writing to express our support for the proposed mixed-use development known as Cool Spring Crossing, a development that includes a large percentage of affordable workforce housing options. This project represents a significant step toward addressing the pressing housing needs in our community while also promoting a vibrant, inclusive environment.
The inclusion of attainable housing is essential to ensure that all residents have access to safe and stable living conditions. By prioritizing affordable units, we can help alleviate the burden on low- and moderate-income families who are struggling to find suitable housing.
Due to the lack of housing available to many of our neighbors, I support this application, specifically the number of affordable housing units provided by this development.
I look forward to seeing this project move forward and positively impact our community.
