Halloween Skate Day at Epworth park set Oct. 21

Barbecue from Slo ‘N’ Lo
October 19, 2018

The Epworth Skate Park will host a Halloween Skate Day from 2 to 6 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 21. Prizes will be awarded for contests like Best Street Trick and Bowl Jam and, of course, for the best Halloween costume. There will be live music and a DJ, delicious barbecue from Slo ‘N’ Lo, and homemade baked goods and drinks.

Epworth Skate Park, located at Epworth United Methodist Church, 19285 Holland Glade Road, Rehoboth Beach, has just undergone a facelift. The park was professionally repaired and repainted, and all asphalt was resurfaced. Maintaining the surfaces at the park is necessary for safe skating for local and visiting skateboarders.

The grassroots group Epworth Skate Project is made up of volunteers from the skate community and the church, and relies on donations from events and skate days at the park to cover costs. Community members are encouraged to attend the skate day and to donate. For more information or to donate online, go to www.eumcrb.org/sk8.

Participants at the Halloween Skate Day should note that on-site registration is necessary, and all skaters under 18 are required to have a parent or guardian sign for them. Helmets and pads are encouraged. For details regarding skate day, find Skate Epworth on Facebook or @SkateEpworth or on Instagram.
