Harold Morris Conklin, Vietnam veteran

Harold Morris Conklin, 74, of Millsboro passed away after an injury and hard-fought battle with Alzheimer’s/Dementia, Wednesday, June 23, 2021, at Atlantic Shores Rehabilitation & Health Center in Millsboro. He was born Dec. 3, 1946, in Walden, N.Y., son of the late Frank Preston and Clara Mae (McCoy) Conklin.

Mr. Conklin was a Vietnam veteran and proudly served and retired after 22 years in the U.S. Army. Mr. Conklin worked in the fields of administrative, stock control, and as a unit supply specialist in the Army. He also worked as a correctional supervisor at the Fort Riley Army Confinement Facility. Mr. Conklin enjoyed the Rehoboth and Dewey Beach life by frequenting Casa DiLeo's, Fins, and his all-time favorite, Wawa. He was always on call if anybody needed help or a ride somewhere.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Conklin was preceded in death by his daughter, Catherine Ryan of Buffalo, N.Y. He is survived by his sons: Rick Conklin of Buffalo, John and Jeremy Conklin, both of Walden, N.Y., and Logan and Shane Conklin, both of Lewes; his daughter, Clair Conklin of Millville; and his 13 grandchildren. 

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, July 28, at 11 A.M., at Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, where friends may visit beginning at 10 A.M.
