Harrington Raceway donates fountain of hope proceeds to Home of the Brave
As part of its ongoing commitment to the community, Harrington Raceway and Casino presented Home of the Brave Foundation with a check April 29 for $1,200, from monies deposited into the company’s on-site fountain known as the fountain of hope.
The fountain benefits a different nonprofit organization annually on a rotating basis with previous recipients including the Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition, Ronald McDonald House and current beneficiary, the Make A Wish Foundation Mid-Atlantic.
“We sincerely thank Harrington Raceway and Casino for their continued support of Home of the Brave,” said Jessica Finan, executive director.
“We are genuinely grateful for the service of our veterans,” said Matt Sparacino, Harrington Raceway and Casino director of public relations. “This donation was just a small token of our appreciation to our military.”
Based in Milford, Home of the Brave was established in 1992 and helps reduce homelessness in the military veteran population as well as provide food, shelter and counseling to veterans of the armed forces. Present needs include personal care items, food and office supplies. For more information on Home of the Brave, go to homeofthebravefdn.org.
