Referring to the article on page 4 of this newspaper dated April 30 (capegazette.com/article/hospital-spending-bill-passes-house/274388), House Bill 350 has passed the Delaware House and is now before the Senate Executive Committee. If passed, this bill would have a devastating impact on our already-overburdened healthcare system in Delaware. It would take the choices regarding our healthcare away from the patient and their doctors, and give that control to a government committee in the name of cost saving. This is another example of the government imposing its will on its citizens.
Having been an inpatient at Beebe hospital several times in the past four years, I have respect for the organization and appreciate the care I received. Dr. David Tam has a link on the Beebe website that makes it easy to contact members of the Senate Executive Committee. I urge you to contact each of them and voice your opposition to HB 350.
