Hella Hedwig Lachmann, trapeze artist, fire dancer

Hella Hedwig Lachmann, 87, of Lewes passed away Monday, June 24, 2019, at the Delaware Hospice Center, in Milford. She was born Wednesday, Dec. 30, 1931, in Landshut, Germany, daughter of the late Ludwig and Katharina Angler.

Mrs. Lachmann traveled as a trapeze artist and cabaret fire dancer in Europe with the circus. When she met her huband, Josef, they were married in Germany by the military. Then in 1962, they came to the United States, where they settled in Lewes and raised their family. In Mrs. Lachmann's spare time, she enjoyed gardening, spending time with her family and friends, and her beloved dog, Sheeba.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Lachmann was preceded in death by her husband, Josef Lachmann in 2012. She is survived by her sons: Eric J. Lachmann of Lewes, Josef Lachmann of Lewes, Michael Lachmann and Thoy Lachmann of Frederica; her daughters: Tanya Farlow and her husband Leeroy of Milton, and Janet A. Deering and her husband Timothy of Milton; her grandchildren: Abigail Farlow of Milton, John P. Deering and Tiffany M. Deering of Milton, Ashley A. Deering and Jordan Moore of Millsboro; and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be private. Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, Lewes.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Lachmann's name to the Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
