History of Slaughter Beach virtual program set June 11

June 9, 2021

The History of Slaughter Beach will be Milford’s 2nd Friday program topic at 7 p.m., June 11, via Zoom.

Presenters will discuss the ancient, natural, geologic, cultural and social history of Slaughter Beach. They will connect people who have memories of the beach with the Slaughter Beach historical group that is still in formation.

People with memories, photos, newspaper clippings or other artifacts of Slaughter Beach are especially encouraged to participate. Presenters include Dr. Joanne Plescia, Diane McFaul Hindman, Dr. Jackson Gingrich, Linda White, Dr. Stephen Heyse, and Milford’s unofficial historian Dave Kenton, who is an advisor to the group, as is the Milford Museum.

To register for a Zoom invitation, email 2ndFriday.Milford@gmail.com. Zoom invitation links will be emailed the morning of the event.

The family-friendly 2nd Friday initiative is hosted by First Presbyterian Church of Milford in collaboration with the Milford Museum and the Slaughter Beach historical group.
