History teachers Esham, Passwaters honored at Sussex Tech

Two shared approach history teachers at Sussex Technical High School shared Staff Member of the Month honors for February 2012. Receiving the honor were Dr. Lucilla Esham of Gumboro and Millie Passwaters of Millsboro.

In making the presentation, Assistant Principal Dr. Jason Peel commended the teachers for their efforts to improve the students' test results in history on the second-quarter assessments.

Esham began teaching history and English at Sussex Tech in 2004. She holds a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and a master’s degree in special education. After teaching for a few years, she returned to the University of Delaware to obtain her doctorate in educational leadership.

Passwaters also attended the University of Delaware, where she earned her bachelor’s degree. She came to Sussex Tech in 2005 to teach social studies.
