Lewes Yacht Club’s summer regattas have experienced fog and no wind. Now, the Aug. 24-25 Hobie Summer Winds Regatta lived up to its name with Sunday’s racing cancelled because of too much wind.

Winners of the Hobie 16 class were Mark and Grace Modderman of Long Branch, N.J., who won all four races on the first day of the regatta. Bill Kast of Nazareth, Pa., won the Hobie 17 class and Dan Flanigan of Rehoboth Beach won the Hobie Wave class.

Local finishers in the Wave class included Hattie Warwick-Smith of Lewes, fourth place; William Burke of Milton, fifth place; and Ike Beam of Milton, seventh place.
