Holly Rae Townsend, devoted to family

Ms. Holly Rae Townsend, 28, of Greenwood, passed away as a result of injuries sustained in an auto accident Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2015.

Holly was born July 11, 1987, in Milford, to the late Phillip E. Townsend and Mona Ray Wootten Mitchell who survives her.

She was working as a waitress at Smith’s Family Restaurant in Greenwood. She attended Sussex Central High School and also Millsboro Wesleyan Church. Holly loved music of all kinds. She enjoyed spending time outdoors and with horses. She was devoted to her children and family. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her stepfather, Peter Mitchell of Millsboro; maternal grandparents, James and Cindy Wootten; paternal grandmother, Helen Townsend; significant other, DeShawn Sample of Greenwood; five children, Kayleigh Dent, Damien Dent, C.J. Boyce, Ariyanna Townsend and Mason Townsend; one sister, Jessica Bowden and her husband Andy of Millsboro; and stepsister Donna Fretz and her husband Archie of Millsboro. Holly is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 18, at Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, where friends may call after noon for a time of visitation. Burial will be held privately.
