Saint Andrew the Apostle Orthodox Church sets Lent service March 18

The Eastern Orthodox Lenten Fast begins Monday, March 14. Saint Andrew the Apostle Orthodox Church in Lewes will hold its first Lenten Liturgy of the PreSanctified Holy Gifts at 6 p.m., Friday, March 18.

Midway Baptist Church sets Easter cantata service March 20

Midway Baptist Church welcomes all to its Easter Cantata, Risen Redemption, a contemporary worship celebration of Jesus' resurrection presented by the praise team at 10:30 a.m., Palm Sunday, March 20. Lewes Cross Walk set for Good Friday, March 25

The community is invited to witness Christian faith and fellowship with others on the Lewes Cross Walk, sponsored by the churches of Lewes, at 10 a.m., Good Friday, March 25. The Cross Walk will make 14 stops. At each stop, Scripture will be read and a verse of a hymn will be sung. The Cross Walk will begin at Bethel United Methodist Church, 129 W. Fourth St. and  end at Bethel Cemetery, Savannah Road.

Friendship Baptist Church sets sunrise service and pancake breakfast March 27

Friendship Baptist Church on Fourth Street in Lewes will host a sunrise service at 6 a.m., Sunday, March 27. A pancake and sausage breakfast will follow the service. Cost is $3.

Easter Sunday sunrise service set at Lewes Beach March 27

Sponsored by the churches of Lewes, an Easter Sunday sunrise service will be held at 6:30 a.m., Sunday, March 27, at Lewes Beach. The Rev. Deborah McCaffity of St. George AME will be preaching. All are welcome.

Bethel United Methodist Church sets Holy Week schedule

Bethel UMC will hold Palm Sunday services at 8, 9:15 and 11 a.m., Sunday, March 20. The ministry of Jesus reaches its climax as he enters Jerusalem in triumph. But even as the people rejoice, a plot is afoot to rain on his parade. At the 9:15 service, King’s Kids will sing. At 11 a.m. the Chancel Choir will sing.

A Holy Thursday service is set for 7 p.m., March 24. Bethel’s Youth Music Ministry YM2 and a reader’s theater featuring both youth and adults will highlight worship. The drama, "His Witnesses," is set in a courtroom where God is interrogating the witnesses to Jesus’ final hours at Gethsemane, at Calvary and at the tomb. The service will also include Holy Communion.

Easter services are set at 8, 9:15 and 11 a.m., Sunday, March 27. All creation praises God on Easter morning in celebration of the resurrection of Jesus from the grave. The church will be resplendent with flowers, and trumpets will announce the Lord’s victory. All are welcome to worship and praise God together.

Holy Spirit Anglican Church sets Wednesday Lenten Teaching Series

Holy Spirit Anglican Church in Lewes announced its new vicar The Rev. Vern Caswell is leading a Lenten Teaching Series on prayer each Wednesday evening with a soup and bread supper at 6:30 p.m. and teaching beginning at 7 p.m. The church meets at the Henlopen Grange Lodge, 1528 Savannah Road in Lewes. The Long Neck United Methodist Church's Palm Sunday will be celebrated at the 8:45 and 11 a.m. services., Sunday, March 20. Holy Wednesday service will be at 7 p.m., Wednesday, March 23. Maundy Thursday service will be at 7 p.m., Thursday, March 24. Good Friday service will be at 7 p.m., Friday, March 25. Holy Saturday service will be a noon, Saturday, March 26. Westminster Presbyterian Church sets Holy Week, Easter services

Westminster Presbyterian Church's worship service celebrating Palm Sunday, March 20, will begin at 10 a.m. Church children will enhance the service by distributing palms. A special offering for One Great Hour of Sharing will be taken. A Maundy Thursday service with supper will be held at 6 p.m., Thursday, March 24. On Good Friday, March 25, the service will last from 1 to 2 p.m. Easter services will be at 8 and 10 a.m., Sunday, March 27. Pastor Frank Deming will preside at all services. St. James Anglican sets services for Holy Week and Easter

St. James Anglican Church announced its services for Lent and Easter. Blessing of the Palms and Eucharist services are set at 8 and 10 a.m., Palm Sunday, March 20. Eucharist will be celebrated at 12 and 6 p.m., Maundy Thursday, March 24. Good Friday meditation and stations of the cross will take place from 12 to 4 p.m., Friday, March 25.
