Hospitality ambassador training for local workers set June 3
The Delaware Restaurant Association will host hospitality ambassador boot camp for local workforce members from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday, June 3, at Kings Creek Country Club in Rehoboth Beach.
In 2023, the association created and hosted the inaugural event, designed to elevate customer service within the hospitality industry, and inspire a sense of pride about Delaware’s natural resources, attractions and restaurants. Attendees receive customized ambassador certifications along with tools and action plans to take back to their workplaces.
Keynote speaker Khalilah Olokunloa will present “The Pre-Shift – What Happens Before Determines What Happens Next.” The talk is designed to energize and equip teams for peak performance throughout their shifts, ensuring every member is aligned and ready to deliver exceptional experiences.
In additional to breakout tracks specific to managers and workforce, sessions will focus on providing engaging social media content and creative solutions for the August slump faced by many hospitality workers during the end of the busy summer season.
The event also includes sexual harassment prevention training, mandatory for Delaware businesses with more than 50 employees.
Partnering for the event are the Delaware Division of Small Business and Delaware Tourism Office.
Tickets are $49 and include breakfast, lunch, giveaways and customized hospitality ambassador certification. For more information, go to delawarerestaurant.org.
