Humane association to distribute dog and cat food March 26 at Rehoboth PetSmart

March 25, 2020

Delaware Humane Association is providing a drive-up pet food pantry to those who are in need at the Rehoboth Beach location in the PetSmart parking lot, 19563 Coastal Hwy Unit 5. Although the event is supposed to go from 1 to 3 p.m., Thursday, March 26, because supplies are limited, the event may end sooner.

When arriving, folks should remain at their vehicles to maintain social distancing. Have the vehicle ready, and the Humane Society team will load the pet food. Be aware that this event just includes cat and dog food.

Everyone is so grateful to the local Rehoboth Beach PetSmart for donating pet food for the event as well as for their support.

Patrick Carroll, executive director of DHA said, “When we hosted our first Drive-Up Pet Food Pantry at our animal care center in Wilmington last Friday, it was evident that the need was there. Community members were very grateful to receive help and we could tell they were concerned about feeding their pets in the weeks and months to come. We were able to help over 330 households. Our staff and volunteers immediately felt we should do it again in the other community we serve at our Rehoboth Adoption Center. With so many residents there who work in the service industry, we are confident that the need will be great, and that we can pitch in and help, along with our partners and supporters.”
