The annual Blessing of the Animals took place at St. Jude The Apostle’s picnic grove Oct. 7. A prayer service was held, and pets were blessed in remembrance of St. Francis of Assisi, patron saint of animals and the environment. Several hundred people came with dogs, cats, birds, chickens and lots of stuffed animals.
