Independent author information session set April 4

The Rehoboth Beach Writers’ Guild, Bethany Beach Books and Browseabout Books will host a free independent author information session on selling and marketing books to independent bookstores at 5 p.m., Tuesday, April 4, at the Glade Clubhouse near Rehoboth Beach. Independent author liaisons from both bookstores will help participants navigate their submission processes and discuss best practices for marketing author events. Additional presenters include a marketing professional and an author who has successfully navigated the self-publishing process. There will be time to ask questions. Drinks and light snacks will be provided.

Maribeth Fisher, Rehoboth Beach Writers’ Guild executive director, said, “Every time I travel, as I have recently, to a city without a bookstore, I realize how lucky we are to have these stores that are not only willing to support our local authors, but go out of their way to help educate us. We are writers, not salespeople or marketers, and yet that is what we have to learn in order to get our books out in the world. The guild's partnership with Browsebout Books and Bethany Beach Books is something I'm proud of and enormously grateful for.”
