Introduction to medicine wheel program set Oct. 22

October 8, 2022

HealTree will present Introduction to the Medicine Wheel as an Object of the Wholeness, facilitated by the Rev. Sue Greer, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 22, at 1632 Savannah Road, Suite 10, Lewes.

The medicine wheel has been used in many cultures as a model for an awakened life. Emphasizing its connection to Lakota and Cherokee cultures, Greer will explain how it can be used to connect people to the rhythm and cycles of the earth, and to their own spirit.

The lessons of the medicine wheel are many; each of the directions in the wheel teaches individuals a clear way to be in the world. And as a whole, it shows them how to be in right relationships with oneself, one another, community, ancestors and all life.

Workshop participants will create the wheel together and experience the power of the direction and harmony it can bring. Handouts of the four directions and their meaning will be given. Greer will drum and show the meaning of the objects used to create a medicine wheel. Greer experienced and studied the medicine wheel through several teachers and two different unifying views. Her teachers were Hemeyeosis Storm, Brooke Medicine Eagle and Grandmother Twila.

Cost is $45 per person and all materials are included. Space is limited.
