IV Drip Bar sets first anniversary celebration June 1

To celebrate its first anniversary and thank the community for its support, the IV Drip Bar will offer complimentary vitamin shots from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Thursday, June 1, at 201819 Coastal Highway, Rehoboth Beach. 

The wellness space on the Forgotten Mile offers IV therapy and vitamin injections. 

Vitamins available will be B12, Lipo-B, Biotin, B-complex, Vitamin D, Tri-Immune and and Amino Acid blend. No appointments are necessary, but new clients will need to complete a health intake form to screen for allergies and contraindications. One free shot per person will be allowed.

Owners Matt McKinnis and Tania Pritz said after launching on Memorial Day weekend last year, business has been booming, but not quite how they expected.

“We fully anticipated that the bulk of our business would be hangover relief, which is extremely effective. However, that has proven to be only about a third of our business. Most of our clients come in to stay healthy, since you absorb 100% of the vitamins given by IV or injection, versus only about 30% when taken orally,” said Pritz. Many clients also find the IV Drip Bar when they are looking to recover from a stomach bug or cold, or just from being worn down by a busy life.

“We very much enjoy educating our clients about how IV or injectable vitamins can benefit them,” McKinnis said. 

Both owners have had long careers in the health and wellness fields. McKinnis owned several personal training franchises; Pritz has been a chiropractor for more than 30 years.

When visitors come in to the IV Drip Bar, they will often find Pritz or McKinnis having lively conversations with clients while one of their 10 registered nurses provides service. Medical Director Dr. Amber Manning oversees the business and continually educates the staff on current topics in health, wellness and nutrition.
