The Delaware Center for the Inland Bays invites entrants for the second annual James Farm Photo Challenge, to be held Friday and Saturday, Sept. 20 and 21. Nature enthusiasts and photographers of all skill levels are encouraged to participate in this two-day live photography competition hosted at the 150-acre James Farm Ecological Preserve in Ocean View.
Participating photographers may submit photos across three categories: landscape/seascape, human connection, and wildlife. All images must be taken Sept. 20 or 21. The entry fee is $25 for adults and $10 for youth, with all proceeds directly benefiting the Delaware Center for the Inland Bays, a nonprofit organization committed to preserving, protecting and restoring Delaware’s Inland Bays and their watershed.
Winners will be chosen in both adult and youth categories, with grand prize winners receiving a prize package including $50 cash and center merchandise, plus having their photographs displayed at the center offices for one year.
“The center is enthusiastic to welcome visitors to the James Farm Ecological Preserve for year two of the photo challenge,” said Mark Carter, center director of development. “It's a natural way to get folks to slow down and take a closer look at the beauty of our Inland Bays watershed.”
The James Farm Ecological Preserve is a 150-acre oasis of pristine wildlands along Indian River Bay. Comprising seven distinct habitats, the preserve was donated to Sussex County in 1992 and is managed by the Delaware Center for the Inland Bays.
This event is made possible through the generous support of the Coastal Camera Club, Sharon Denny Photography and the Rehoboth Art League. For complete details and to register, go to inlandbays.org.
