Jan Konesey elected as SOLA3 board director
Jan Konesey, a longtime Rehoboth Beach homeowner, has been elected to serve as a director on the board of Save Our Lakes Alliance3 for a three-year term beginning in January. Konesey has served as a Rehoboth Beach city commissioner as well as a member of the Rehoboth Beach Planning Commission. In that capacity, she said, “I traveled to visit innovative communities planned by leading-edge architectural and planning firms, and have followed as best I could trends in community planning.”
Konesey had a diverse career with Bank of America, working in various managerial positions and support roles. She retired in 2011 as a senior vice president.
Currently she serves on the boards of Incserv, a Delaware incorporating business, and Common Cause of Delaware. She also volunteers with Meals on Wheels and the Dover Public Library Film Committee.
Sallie Forman, founder and president of SOLA3, said “Jan’s longtime service to the City of Rehoboth, plus the talents and skills she brings from her career experience, fit well in tackling the important issues SOLA3 must address, such as the city’s Comprehensive Development Plan, outreach to our community, and work with city and state officials and their staffs on managing and improving the Rehoboth lakes.”
Founded in 2004, SOLA3 is the only nonprofit, all-volunteer organization dedicated to restoring, protecting, and maintaining the three freshwater lakes located in the Rehoboth Beach area – Silver Lake, Lake Comegys and Lake Gerar.
