Jazz-inspired artwork returns to Rehoboth Beach Jazz Festival

October 6, 2018

Jazz-inspired paintings, prints, and ceramics by Lee Hoffman, from the Will Farrow Collection, along with paintings and artwork from the collection of Sydney Arzt, known for bringing jazz to the beaches, will be on display at Cape Henlopen High School during the Rehoboth Beach Jazz Festival events Thursday to Sunday, Oct. 11-14.

The work exhibited will include a large abstract painting called “Monk’s Thumb,” by Lee Hoffman, his last major work, completed shortly before his death in 2014.

Sydney Arzt will be showing artwork from her personal collection acquired over the years as former owner and operator of Sydney's Blues & Jazz Restaurant in Rehoboth Beach.

Hoffman’s work is represented in selected collections all over the world, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Smithsonian Museum of American Art in Washington, D.C.
