Jeffrey D. Penn, man of deep faith
Jeffrey D. Penn, 85, of Millsboro, left this earth Thursday, Feb. 5, 2026, to be with the Lord after trials and complications of MSA/Parkinsonian. Born in 1940 in Philadelphia, Pa., he was the son of Virgil D. and Cleta Penn (née Seeds).
Jeff had a deep faith in God. He was an altar server of the Episcopalian Church and continued his Christian faith throughout his life.
Jeff’s career was in the food industry where he rose to top management of Tartan, Tartan Sysco, and Sysco Company. He was hardworking, dutiful and kind-hearted.
Jeff was an avid member of several golf clubs. He donated golf equipment to youth organizations to teach them the sport.
In Jeff’s younger years, he was a very successful football coach for the Springfield Township, Pa., Youth Athletic Club, and he initiated and built the Drexel Hill Raiders youth football program into a local powerhouse.
Following family members, Jeff was a Mason for over 60 years. He belonged to the Shekinah-Fernwood Lodge No. 246, along with the Shriners, being a noble example of his unselfish and devoted life.
Jeff’s deep sense of caring also extended to animals. This was evident in his devotion to rescuing dogs; Barnie and Bart, his rescued companions who flourished under his commitment and care.
Jeff was the beloved husband of Frances (née Roszkowski); loving father of Jeffrey W. Penn (Christina); adoring grandfather of Blaze W. and Bianca M. Penn; and dear brother of the late Raymond Penn and the late Virgil D. Penn III.
A viewing will be held from 2 to 4 p.m., Friday, Feb. 20, at Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Hwy., Lewes. Interment will be held privately.
