A job well done by Sen. Lopez

July 30, 2018

Sen. Ernie Lopez continues to support organizations throughout the Cape Region to a remarkable degree, helping to burnish our area's reputation as Delaware's premier destination.

Recent examples of Sen. Lopez's support include his bipartisan effort to secure $125,000 in funding for the Lewes Historical Society's Children's Discovery Center at the Lewes History Museum. The center will be the first such children's space in Sussex County and will serve as an important educational resource and attraction to residents and visitors alike. The center and the museum that house it will serve as a powerful statement that the Lewes area offers a rich cultural environment for families of all ages.

Sen. Lopez also secured funding for the enhancement of the society's Lewes Life-Saving Station on the Lewes-Rehoboth Canal as well as a significant increase in grant-in-aid funding which provides critical support to the society's core mission of education, preservation and research.

I commend and thank Sen. Lopez for his dedication and continued bipartisan success in support of the Lewes Historical Society and other institutions and organizations throughout his district. Efforts such as his further enhance the image of the Lewes area as a great place to visit, work and live.
