Local orthodontist Dr. Jonathan Johnson received a rather unique request this year.
A Mariner Middle School staff member reached out to let him know that, due to COVID safety precautions, the school would have to close off student drinking fountains and replace them with water bottle filling stations.
In an effort to help make sure all hybrid students have access to water during the day, Johnson donated more than 1,000 water bottles to Mariner and Beacon middle schools.
Johnson also donated water bottles to the Cape Henlopen High School marching band, dance team and color guard. Now that fall sports are back on, he plans to donate more to student athletes, as well. It’s important to Johnson and the team at Johnson Orthodontics to support local schools and give back to the community whenever possible.
