David Koster of Portraits In the Sand sent this photo of youth competing in the Junior Beach Patrol Olympics in Rehoboth Beach Aug. 8. The program, held under the auspices of the Rehoboth Beach Patrol, began in 1997. Its mission is to engage youth in activities including running, swimming, sit-ups and push-ups and work on cognitive skills. Participants learn beach rules and guarding skills.
