Just Us Cat and Kitten Rescue says thank you

October 31, 2023

Just Us Cat and Kitten Rescue would like to thank all who came out to support us Oct. 25 at 1776 Steakhouse. The restaurant was filled to capacity the entire evening with people who supported our silent auction and 50/50 raffle.

We would also like to thank all those who donated items to the event; there were 14 gift baskets and 23 items, including 14 gift cards, displayed for bid. There was something for everyone!

Thank you to all the volunteers who gave up an evening to sell tickets and help with managing the auction. They say it takes a village, and it certainly did on Wednesday night. A few need special recognition: Ed Moore, who made most of the baskets; Jack Noel, who emceed the evening; Rachel Gilmore, who did all the graphics work; and Nancy Harris, who helped me along the way in every way possible.

A special thank you to Tom Holmes and Tammy Mozingo, 1776 owners, for opening their restaurant to our cause and for a very generous contribution as well. The wait staff and bartenders were wonderful and patient, dealing with a packed room of cat lovers waiting for auction and raffle results.

Just Us has been in existence for more than 18 years, led by Bob Harrison, president. Thank you, Bob, for your leadership and keeping us on target to meet our mission goals. And a very special thank you to Pat Riordan and Kathy Askew for starting Just Us and for continuing their support.
